EMAIL UPDATE (2-20-2021)

Hello Spirit Families!

Due to this year’s unique circumstances, this season will look a little different than it has in the past.  Here are the highlights of what you need to know:

  • Reduced Fees - Spirit understands that this past year has been financially challenging for many families and continues to be challenging.  In an effort to help our girls get back out on the field we have lowered registration fees, deposit requirements, and buy out options for all divisions.
  • Team T-Shirts - As part of this year’s fee reduction, players will receive a team T-shirt instead of a team uniform.
  • Coaches & Team Parents needed - Spirit has been working diligently to identify ways to help keep our girls safe on the field and part of that is to increase the number of coaches and team parents to help keep players engaged while also keeping shared equipment sanitized. Volunteers will need to complete an ACE certification (which includes a background check), complete a Livescan fingerprinting and attend Spirit‘s COVID-19 protocol Zoom meeting, date and time TBD. If you are interested, please email Lia Fayle, or visit the Coaches’ Corner on Spirit’s website for more information and to submit an application. Coaches will also need to attend a coaches’ clinic via zoom on 3/1, time TBD in the evening. We are working to come up with easy, engaging practice plans to support our t-ball and minors coaches.
  • Spectators will not be allowed on the fields - To help with mitigation efforts only players, the coaching staff, and team parents will be allowed on the fields during designated times.  All other family members and spectators will be asked to remain outside of the fence line maintaining proper distance from anyone outside of their household. If you wish to be on the field with your child please consider volunteering as a coach or team parent.

Spirit of Morgan Hill is also actively recruiting people who have an interest in the future of the league to join our Board.  Do you have ideas to help shape the future of Spirit softball for your player and community?  Do you value having a safe space for today’s youth to get involved in a sport for physical and emotional well being?  Are you looking for ways in general to get more involved in your community?  We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about being on the Spirit of Morgan Hill Board.  Please email Melissa Goulart,, to get the conversation started.

  • March 1st - Coaches’ meeting, via zoom, time TBD
  • TBD - COVID-19 Protocol meeting for coaches & team parents via Zoom
