2020 SEASON UPDATE (5-18-2020)

May 18, 2020

RE:  COVID-19 (Update #4)

Hello Spirit Families,

Hope this email finds you well and you are continuing to stay safe and healthy.  We hope during this time you are finding ways to stay active.  Whether it's playing catch, hitting off a tee or going for run, we want to be ready when softball and all other sports return.  Know that we have been thinking of all you and truly miss cheering on the girls playing on the field.

A few Board members have been in contact with neighboring leagues and receiving communication from USA Softball as to what is happening locally and nationally.  At this time, we are following local and state guidelines which means we are still SIP until the end of month.  We will continue to follow all updates, keep you posted and keep our fingers crossed that we are back to the fields sooner rather than later.

What's Happening Now:

Parent Survey for Refunds, Carryovers or Donations for Spring 2020:

Please complete the following survey letting Spirit know what your preference is regarding 2020 fees: (Click Here for Survey).  Please be sure to complete all requested contact information and please complete survey by May 31st.

  1. You can request a refund and you will receive a partial refund for the season which would be Spring Fees less the Uniform Cost.  We are working with Sports Engine to see if they can credit back cards for parents who used them for registration.  If not, then a check will be mailed to you.  We hope to have refunds processed by mid June.
  2. You can carryover your fee to the 2021 Spring Season.  The carryover amount would be the same as the partial refund.
  3. You can donate your fees and for those parents who have offered to donate to Spirit and we sincerely thank you!

Equipment Bags:

Since SIP, we have had very minimal contact/communication with MHUSD.  Currently, we are unable to access the fields and equipment lock-ups.  Once we are granted access, Spirit will contact those coaches on when equipment can be returned.  Coaches, thank you for holding onto the bags!

We want to sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.   I know as a community we are doing our best to stay strong  physically, mentally and emotionally,    Remember to stay positive, find the good in anything if not everything, and know that we will see each other again out on the fields.  Take care and be well!

Sincerely ~ Nalani Battaglia
